Previous Teaching: Vocational Overview
- I have taught essentially all units in different versions of the Diploma of Software Development and the Diploma of Website Development from 2014 to 2016.
- The current versions in operation when I started at Computer Power in 2014 were internally called DS4 and DW1 which mapped to ICA50711 and ICA50611 respectively.
- Around one year later we upgraded to the ICT training package and ICT50715 and ICT50615, and referred to these versions internally as DS5 and DW2. These versions removed "overpackaging" from the predecessors, and had just the minimum number of mapped units to deliver the qualifications. However many of the other units remained as non-mapped units to retain a similar structure and to allow students to build up their skills more gradually.
- Two more iterations of each qualification were introduced around 1 and 1.5 years later respectively referred to as DS6/S6A and DW3/W3A. These versions reordered some units to fit into a new model where enrolment was required to be broken into three census blocks and some minor reshuffling of units.
- The versions summarised below are DS5 and DW2, which were the original versions of the 2015 ICT training packages, current when I finished teaching these qualifications.
